10 Flemish partners on Boot Düsseldorf 2010!

Several Flemish governemental organisations and nautical companies will be present at the fair "Boot" in Düsseldorf.

We welcome you on stands 14H15 and 14H16 in Hall 14. Here you can find the leaflet with the partners in Dutch and in German.

The new Shipping Regulations enter into force on 1 January 2007.

These regulations consist of 2 sections:
- Algemeen reglement der scheepvaartwegen van het koninkrijk (General Regulations for Shipping Routes in Belgium) (download pdf in Dutch - 420 kb)
- Algemeen Politiereglement voor de Scheepvaart op de Binnenwateren (General Police Regulations for Inland Shipping) (download pdf in Dutch - 945 kb)

The brochure "vaarregels in beeld" (sailing rules in picture) (2 Mb) gives a tabled summary of these new rules which are based on the CEVNI (European Code for Inland Waterways).

The Willemsroute

Rijkswaterstaat – the Dutch Department of Public Works and Water Management – is currently lengthening the locks at the Dutch towns of Born, Maasbracht and Heel. This means that a considerable proportion of the lock capacity on the Julianakanaal is unavailable for some time. To avoid long waiting times and to help recreational traffic such as you, a splendid alternative route is being offered. Have a look at the map for more information about the waterways and the surroundings of the Willemsroute. The flyer (with map) is downloadable on www.dewillemsroute.eu.

Shipping routes map

A completely revised edition of the Map of the Belgian Waterways (Kaart van de Scheepvaartwegen in België) rolled off the NGI press last June. This map (scale 1:250 000) came about after collaboration with the Ministry of Transport (Federale Overheidsdienst Mobiliteit en Vervoer), the Ministry of the Flemish Community (Ministerie van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap), the Walloon Ministry of Civil Engineering and Transport (Ministère wallon de l'Equipement et des Transports), Brussels Capital Region (Brussels hoofdstedelijk Gewest), the Promotion Office for Inland Navigation in Flanders (Promotie Binnenvaart Vlaanderen), the Office for the Promotion of Inland Waterways (Office de Promotion des Voies Navigables), and the River Information Service – Flanders-Evergem (RIS-Vlaanderen-Evergem). You can order this map in the ‘Publications and downloads’ section.
